High Voltage Safety

In terms of high voltage safety, the priority is to be able to work with an electrically dead state, which is achieved with the use of Electrical Lockout Equipment, but this is often not possible. Therefore, it is incredibly important to take necessary precautions to avoid injury by electrocution; this can be done by ensuring you have the correct Ladders and Platforms, Switchboard Matting and Shrouding and Insulating Gloves and Boots. It is also advisable to look into the use of Cable Avoidance Tools for those situations which may require them; alongside Rescue Hooks and Kits in the event of an incident in order to be able to intervene without risk of injury to the rescuer. In situations where an incident has occured it is beneficial if you have the necessary emergency rescue medical equipment at hand to prevent the situation escalating.
